Paloma Sánchez-Garnica and Beatriz Serrano: winner and runner-up of 2024 Planeta Prize

The traditional literary dinner at the MNAC was held on 15 October. King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, and José Creuheras, President of Planeta and Atresmedia, attended the Awarding of the 2024 Planeta Prize. The winner was writer Paloma Sánchez-Garnica for her novel Victoria.

Unlike the seasoned winner, who was already a finalist in 2021, Beatriz Serrano is a novice writer just 35 years old. Fuego en la garganta is her second novel and she has received €200,000 as a runner-up.

This year’s prize ceremony coincided with the celebration of the Group’s 75th Anniversary, a major event that drew more than 100 writers and a wide range of significant figures from culture, business, politics, cinema, and television.
